Morpeth Antique Centre
Welcome to Morpeth Antique Centre, located within the 170 year old Campbell’s Store in Morpeth’s main street. Campbell’s Store traded from 1846 – 1950’s as a general store and haberdashery. When the rail line ceased into Morpeth, the once bustling village became a ‘ghost town’, with many buildings becoming derelict. Campbell’s Store was one such building. Purchased by Trevor & Shirley Richards in 1986, it was fully restored and by 1987 began trade once again as a craft centre with different artisans selling their wares. Over the next 30 years it evolved into ‘the place to shop’ for high quality giftware, fine art & collectables.
In October 2015 word spread that Newcastle’s premier antique centre, The Centenary Centre, would close after 23 years, leaving 32 dealers with no home to go to. Trevor & Shirley decided that Campbell’s Store would make a fabulous antique centre.
On the 3rd of March, Morpeth Antique Centre opened for trade, with dealers from the Centenary Centre, who were joined by others, excited by the opportunity of an antique centre in the heart of historic Morpeth village.
There remains room for more dealers to join the centre, and between them the dealers are happy to buy individual items or whole estates, so if you have interesting items or collections to sell, please get in touch.
